Notice regarding cancellation of new factory construction

Irie Koken Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Irie Koken, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Norihiro Irie) has decided to build a new factory in Ronden, Uchiko-cho, Kita-gun, Ehime Prefecture, and is preparing for it. We are pleased to inform you that we have officially decided to cancel this investment. The main reasons are as follows.

• ①In addition to the trade friction between the United States, China, and Japan and South
  Korea, the business environment has changed significantly in the last six months due to
  the corona virus, and it is judged that it is not the time to make a new large-scale investment
  for the time being.


• ➁As a result of comprehensively reexamining the details of the new factory's business content, land ground and expandability, factory layout, expenses, etc., based on industry trends and changes in the investment environment, at this point, it is assumed that the return on investment will not be as expected.

A candidate site was being selected in the Ehime-ken inside and outside of the country for construction in a new factory, but I judged that the merit a new factory also constructs in the same area was big because there was a factory of existence in Chunanyo Ehime-ken. The land in Ronden Uchiko-cho possesses finally could be used, and I came to a decision of this case.
