Contribution to the construction of X-ray free electron laser “SACLA”

On February 6, 2012, at the commemoration ceremony for the services commencement of X-ray free electron laser “SACLA” (SPring-8 Angstrom Compact Free Electron Laser), we were awarded a certificate of appreciation by RIKEN, Japan and JASRI (Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute) for contributions to the construction of the facilities.

“SACLA” is a facility with a total length of about 700m located in Harima Science Garden City, Hyogo, and features a compact design, less than half the size of similar facilities around the world. Not only in the vacuum-sealed undulator section, one of our unique element technologies to realize the above, but also from the upstream beam accelerator section to the downstream X-ray experiment hatch, a large number of our welded bellows have been adopted.
